The 2022 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been held in Guangzhou. Representatives from hundreds of leading enterprises at home and abroad participated.

Over 1,000 business representatives gathered for more investment opportunities. The 2022 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is designed to demonstrate the region's business potential to global investors.

Wang Weizhong, governor of Guangdong province, said: "The Greater Bay Area has the largest group of seaports and airports in the world, with an annual air passenger volume of more than 200 million passengers and a port container throughput of more than 80 million TEUs. The Bay Area has become one of the regions with the strongest economic vitality, and with the highest degree of openness in China."

The conference was jointly held by the provincial government of Guangdong, and the governments of the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR.

Hundreds of companies from more than a dozen countries and regions participated, including Japan, South Korea, the US, and France.

Over 850 cooperation projects were reached at the conference with a total investment of 2.5 trillion yuan.

The conference organizers are planning to carry out promotion activities in nine cities in the region, including on-site inspection tours for potential investors.

Tang Bo, reporter of CGTN in Guangzhou, said: "The conference selected 16 global investment consultants from domestic and foreign business circles. They are expected to help promote Guangdong's investment and business environment and help attract more global high-end talents and high-quality projects to the Greater Bay Area."
